Move your Miami business website to a platform your team can actually manage, with every page, image, and URL accounted for. I currently run Contentful-to-WordPress migrations for a U.S. government agency, and I bring the same checklist to a twelve-page local site.

01 — What’s included

Most migrations go wrong in the details: redirects nobody mapped, images that silently 404, form submissions that stop arriving. My process starts with a full content and URL inventory, maps every content type to its new home, and validates the result before anything goes live. You see the new site on a staging URL and approve it before cutover.

  1. 01Full content and URL inventory of the current site
  2. 02Content model mapping (pages, posts, products, custom fields, media)
  3. 03Automated import with validation reports, not copy-and-paste
  4. 04301 redirect map and metadata carried over page by page
  5. 05Accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) and performance check before launch
  6. 06Staging review, scheduled cutover, and a rollback plan
Local context — Miami

Miami runs on international trade, hospitality, real estate and healthcare, and a large share of customers here search and buy in Spanish. A site that treats Spanish as an afterthought loses those people at the first click. It is also the most competitive market in the state, so speed, clarity and a genuine local structure matter more here than anywhere else in Florida.

Websites rarely need only one thing done to them. For Miami businesses I also take on website redesign in Miami and business websites in Miami, and just up the road I cover website migration in Fort Lauderdale and website migration in West Palm Beach.

Website migration in Miami

Miami sites are often agency-built and carry a monthly retainer for changes a staff member should be able to make. A migration moves the content to a build your team can edit, and in a bilingual market it means twice the URL map: every English and Spanish page inventoried, mapped and redirected, with hreflang checked so neither language loses the rankings it already has.

Who I build for in Miami

  • International trade and logisticsFreight forwarders, importers and customs brokers are vetted by partners abroad, so capability pages have to be clear, credible and readable in more than one language.
  • Restaurants, hotels and nightlifeGuests decide on a phone, often minutes before booking, so menus, reservations and event inquiries have to be a few taps rather than a PDF.
  • Condo and investment real estateOut-of-country buyers judge a listing by its photography, which means large images that still load fast, and neighborhood pages that answer questions before a call.
  • Medical practices and med spasBooking, intake and pricing questions need clear answers in both languages, with contact paths that respect patient privacy.

03 — Process

Four steps and no surprises: you approve the scope before work starts and the site before it launches.

01

Discovery

A short call or email exchange about your goals, your customers and what is not working today. Free, with no commitment.

02

Proposal

A written scope, timeline and fixed price, so you know exactly what you are getting before anything starts.

03

Development

The work happens on a staging site you can open at any time, with plain-language updates at agreed checkpoints.

04

Delivery

Testing, a launch in a low-traffic window, documentation and a handoff session, then support while your team settles in.

04 — Questions

01Can you build the site in both English and Spanish?

Yes, and it is the normal choice for Miami. Each language gets its own URLs and hreflang so both can rank, and the Spanish is written rather than run through a translator. This site is built the same way, so you can see the result before you commit.

02Can we meet in person in Miami?

Sometimes, and I will be straight about it: I am based on the other coast, so Miami projects run remotely by video call and email. I can travel over for a kickoff or a launch review when it genuinely helps, but the work itself does not depend on it.

03Will a migration hurt my Google rankings?

Not if URLs, titles, and content are preserved and redirects are in place. That is the core of my process. Temporary ranking movement in the first weeks is normal; losses come from missing redirects and dropped content, which the inventory and validation steps are built to prevent.

04Which platforms can you migrate from?

Contentful, Squarespace, Wix, Weebly, Drupal, Joomla, static HTML, and older or hacked WordPress installs. Destinations are usually WordPress (often with WooCommerce) or a Next.js site when you need a custom application.

05How long does a migration take for a Miami business?

A typical local business site of 10 to 50 pages takes two to four weeks including review. Larger catalogs or sites with many custom content types are scoped after the inventory.
