01 — The project

The challenge

The portal is how customers reach the products they bought, so thousands of signed-in users depend on it every day. It was built desktop-first on Zend Framework 1, while most users had moved to their phones. Rather than a rebuild from scratch, the modernization happened inside the existing MVC application, with a proprietary API connecting it securely to other servers.

The portal serves as the digital delivery system for Athlean-X products, handling thousands of authenticated users. Converted a desktop-first experience into a responsive, mobile-first PWA with offline capabilities. Delivered complex features within the MVC architecture, managing models, controllers, and views.
